OnDemand3D Dental

OnDemand3D is dental 3D imaging software from Cybermed Inc. (Korea) for dentists, oral surgeons, orthodontists and imaging centres who work with CBCT and CT data. It loads DICOM scans, reconstructs them in 3D and provides dental views, implant planning with manufacturer libraries, 3D cephalometric analysis and before/after comparison. The lighter OnDemand3D Dental package is aimed at general dentists with their own CBCT.

OnDemand3D is commercial software, so it is listed here as shareware (conditionally free). Cybermed’s support pages describe a trial period after installation, and a free Project Viewer lets recipients open shared cases without buying a licence. People searching for an OnDemand3D Dental download or an OnDemand3D viewer are usually after one of these two. Full use needs a paid licence from Cybermed or a local distributor.

Implant planning on a CBCT

1. Import the CBCT DICOM in DBM (from disk, CD or PACS) and open it in the Dental module.
2. Draw or auto-detect the arch curve to get a panoramic reconstruction and cross-sections.
3. Place an implant from the manufacturer library and check its position relative to the mandibular canal and neighbouring roots on the cross-sections.
4. Save the project and create a report for the patient file or the referring dentist.

TMJ and airway review

Use the TMJ or bilateral TMJ layout to compare both condyles, and the airway tool to measure airway volume for orthodontic or sleep-related referrals.

Orthodontic and surgical comparison

With 3D Ceph, trace 3D landmarks for cephalometric analysis. With Fusion, superimpose pre- and post-treatment scans to show changes.

Sharing cases with colleagues

If the practice runs OnDemand3D Server, colleagues can open saved projects in the free Project Viewer without buying a licence. For patients and outside clinicians, burn the study to a disc that includes the CD viewer.

Install and first run

• Get the software: installers, manuals and updates are on ondemand3d.com under Support, behind the customer login, or come from your distributor. In some markets OnDemand3D is sold through distributors such as DEXIS.
• Licence: OnDemand3D uses either a HASP dongle or a serial licence. A serial licence is registered online, so the PC needs internet access at activation. It is tied to one computer; moving it to another PC gives a “registered to a different computer” error until support releases it.
• Trial: after installation the program runs in trial mode; the License Information box shows the remaining time and the active modules.
• Project Viewer: this is a separate option in the same setup program. Cybermed’s FAQ says to remove the full application first and then choose Project Viewer during setup.
• Hardware: get the current requirements from Cybermed or your distributor. The public FAQ still lists legacy Windows versions and is out of date.

Limitations

• Not free: the trial is time-limited, and add-on modules (Fusion, 3D Ceph, In2Guide, X-Image, X-Report) are bought on top of the base package.
• Windows only, with no native macOS version.
• Current version numbers, release notes and manuals are not publicly available, so it is hard to check what a given build includes before contacting sales.
• Serial licences are locked to one PC.
• Regulatory status varies by country. Cybermed’s company history lists US FDA registration in 2007 and Health Canada registration in 2012; check with your distributor for your market and version.

OnDemand3D vs alternatives

OnDemand3D is a full dental CBCT planning suite. Sante DICOM Viewer is a general viewer with MPR, 3D and measurements, and its Lite edition is free, but it has no implant library or panoramic curve. Ez3D Plus is another commercial dental 3D viewer, usually supplied with Vatech CBCT scanners. For research measurements on exported images, ImageJ / Fiji is free but has no dental planning tools.

Is OnDemand3D free?

No. OnDemand3D is commercial. A trial runs after installation, and the Project Viewer for opening shared cases needs no licence, so it is listed as shareware (conditionally free).

Where can I get the OnDemand3D Dental download?

What is the difference between OnDemand3D App and OnDemand3D Dental?

The full App includes the DBM, DLB, Report, 3D and Dental modules for specialists. OnDemand3D Dental is the lighter package (DBM, DLB, Report and Dental) for general dentists.

Is there a free OnDemand3D viewer?

Yes. Project Viewer opens and displays project data shared from an OnDemand3D Server, and the recipient does not need a licence. A CD viewer version is put on patient discs.

What is OnDemand3D Communicator?

The public Cybermed website does not currently describe a product by that name. For sending cases to people without a licence, Cybermed offers the Project Viewer and the CD viewer; ask your distributor which package you have.
